After years of struggling with body image, anxiety, and self acceptance, Melissa came to yoga hoping to find an exercise with great physical results. What she found however was an amazing emotional journey towards self love, and true happiness. She soon learned that yoga was a gift to your body, mind, and soul. After experiencing the wonderful benefits on and off of the mat, she enrolled in the 200 Hour Teacher Training at Open Doors Yoga Studio. She has completed her Children's Yoga Certification, and will continue to pursue different teaching styles, as well as expanding her personal practice.
Off of the mat Melissa is a full time Realtor and loves being able to find families the perfect place to call home! She hopes that by introducing kids to yoga it will give them a powerful tool to cope with stress, and to find peace in this chaotic world
Donna discovered yoga in 2011 shortly after finishing radiation treatment for breast cancer. She was surprised to discover that yoga is about so much more than just physical movement. Yoga is the union of mind, body, and breath.
Yoga physically helped to strengthen Donna's muscles, increased her flexibility, and improved her balance. More importantly she learned to apply the principles learned during her yoga practice to her everyday life. Things like breathing deeply, focusing on what is happening in the current moment, and listening to her body.
In yoga there is no judgement – of others or most importantly of ourselves. After years of battling her body, yoga has helped Donna to accept herself as she is. It is now Donna's mission to bring yoga to EVERY body regardless of shape, size, flexibility, or fitness level.
